Toyota Troubles = Good New for the Domestics

With the recent Toyota recall domestic brand manufactures are sure to pick up market share. Reports have already claimed increased used car values for competing models to Toyota recall list. Vehicles such as the Chevy Malibu are demanding higher prices at used car auctions as it is one of the Camry’s biggest competitors.

This is good news for Cincinnati used car dealers and NH Ford dealers as this will provide a positive impact on moving some of the less popular domestic models. While it may be to soon to make the call it does appear the high flying resale value of used Toyota cars and trucks will take a significant dive.

With some of the announced incentive by many of the domestic manufacturers there is help if you are laden with one of the vehicles on the recall list. Ford, GM and Chrysler have all announced added rebates for owners of the now unpopular Toyota brand.

As auction values have not been updated on many sources the used car guides are not provide accurate values of Toyota brand vehicles because many of the major used car auctions have stopped allowing their vehicles on the lanes. So there is no recent historical data for the guides to provide accurate used car values.

This turn of events is good news for the domestic brands as they are finally starting to recover from their very recent woes. Who would of ever thought that Toyota would ever become a casualty due to quality?

Ford F-150: The One and Only “Truck of Texas”

Not only is the all new 2009 Ford F-150 Motor Trend’s “Truck of the Year” for the 6th consecutive year, it also is recognized as the one and only “Truck of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). Claiming all four vehicle-centered top honors at this year’s TAWA Truck Rodeo, Ford came out the clear winner.

According to Harold Gunn, President of TAWA, “This year’s competition was tighter than ever because all the manufacturers are delivering outstanding trucks. Truck of Texas is really the most important award of its type in the industry” Gunn says. “We love trucks and we really use these vehicles every day.” Mark Fields, Ford’s President of the Americas doesn’t take this award lightly. “This is high praise. Texas Auto Writers are the toughest truck critics because they truly appreciate how core truck customers use their pick-ups. Earning the trust of so many truck customers during the past 31 years has taught us a lot about what they want from their F-150s.” Fields says.

The F-150 isn’t the only Ford Motor Co. honoree in this year’s TAWA results. The F-150 King Ranch boasts the “Best Luxury Pick-Up” title. Ford Flex was named “Best Full-Size CUV and “Best Mid-Size SUV: Ford Explorer.

The 2009 Ford F-150 also is recognized as “America’s Safest Full-Size Pick-Up by the National Highway Traffic Safety Assoc., and the “North American Truck of the Year” at the North American International Auto Show. It seems that, once again, the Ford F-150 is in a class all by itself. And the choices are many: The rugged XL, sporty STX, versatile and well-equipped XLT, durable FX4 or luxurious Lariat. All have a host of option groups and features and can be ordered in millions of combinations.

While Texas is primarily “Truck Country” other areas also love their trucks. A Cincinnati Ford dealer reports that the F150 is their best selling vehicle and they sell more F150 trucks in Cincinnati than any other Ford Model. A close runner to the F150 that is selling well in the Ohio market is the Chevy 1500 and these new accolades for Ford will not deter Cincinnati Chevy dealers.

Other dealers in the mix are still reporting, though lacking a full size truck offering, that they are excited that for Ford dealers. They claim it will not affect sales of New Jersey Hyundai vehicles or used NJ Infiniti G37. Rightfully so because neither of this manufacturers compete in this segment.

Buick Tops Lexus in Dependability

In a recent report issued by JD Powers and Associates Buick has toppled Lexus in Vehicle Dependability. This is great news for struggling General Motors in the quest for survivability. The report rates vehicles for the number of reported faults over a three year period. Buick does share this top spot with Jaguar, which was recently sold by Ford Motor Company.

Many dealers should be grateful for this new revelation. A Cincinnati Chevy Dealer reports that their traffic has increased on their Buick nameplate.

It is unfortunate that good brands are not represented in this top award. While at the same time Used Infiniti in New Jersey are still moving well. Ford delaers still have some things to be excited about as well. With a couple of their vehicles making the cut in this recent report.

The Ford Ranger was also featured as the leader in the small truck segment. This will really benefit our friends at a Cincinnati Ford Dealer and help drive consumers to this awesome vehicle. We just hope it does not lose its ground when Ford introducees the 2011 Ford Ranger.

The New 2011 Ford Ranger – Will Make You Drool

At the recent car show in Geneva SZ Ford Motor Company showed off a redesigned Ford Ranger that will cause you to take a second look. With four full doors and diesel motor in the European version. We don’t know for sure if it is coming state side yet but a rumor from a reliable source says it should hit US showrooms in the 2011 Ford lineup.

When talking with dealership personel at a Cincinnati Ford Dealer they say they have not heard of the new arrival coming in but then again OEM’s have been known to keep secrets from their dealers. The ranger has not had any major redesign since 1993 so it will be a delight to see a new skin on this vehicle.

It may cause Ford to lose some of the F-150 market share when customers tha tdo not require a truck but just want one step down in size due to the enhancements that should become available in this new truck.

Ohio Residents Have Something to Cheer About

Ford Motor Company has reopened it’s Cleveland engine plant. This is great news in these turbulent times for the american people. It would appear that the need for environmentally safe vehicles is up as consumers who are buying are going green.

The eco friendly engines are part of Ford commitment to comming through the the current slump and giving the American public what they want. In a recent conversation with a friend who works for an Ohio Ford dealer he affirmed that consumers are looking to go green. He told me about how the special allocation of 2009 Escape Hybrids they got are selling like crazy, because that is the type of consumers they are seeing today.

The engines being built at the Cleveland plant are a part of Fords new “EcoBoost” initiative. They have use a combination of direct injection and supercharging to produce a cleaner burning motor with reduced CO2 emissions and increased fuel economy. What is even more impressive it delivers more power than it’s traditional counterparts. Reducing the need for bigger vehicles with large motors to accomplish the same goals.

2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Limited Availability

The 2010 Ford Fusion is not being released by Ford Motor Company under normal allocation guidelines as confirmed by a Cincinnati Ford Dealer. The distribution process will place dealer in a lottery to determine the number of vehicles that they will receive. It has not been confirmed, but rumor has it that preorders will be honored.

This vehicle is poised to help the most valid domestic franchise build buzz in the automotive market place. One of the most exciting features being offered on this extraordinary addition to the Ford family is that it will be able to sustain speeds of 47 miles per hour in full electric mode with one fill up lasting an impressive 700 miles.

This will put New Jersey Hyundai dealers on notice and for good reason. Hyundai has really entered the marketplace quite aggressively with many of their programs and are picking up tons of market share. Hopefully Ford dealers will be able to give them a run for their money.

The Ford Fusion Hybrid reviews have been good overall and its sales are expected to topple that of the Toyota Prius once availability is not as limited. This is great news for the stuggling domestic automaker. The 2010 Fusion Hybrid will be a car to watch in the commoing months.
