Ford Motor Company is recalling one of their family vehicle. the Ford Windstar is under recall for a rear axle. this recall has been issued in 21 states, the district of Columbia, and Canada. This recall was issued in places where road salt is most commonly used. Road salt has proven to be corrosive to the rear axle of the Ford Windstar. This corrosion can lead to a crack in the axle. A crack in the axle can lead to problems in the handling capabilities of  the Ford Windstar van. The Windstar van was in production from 1992-2003. This Ford Motors product is no longer in production, but there are still some models out on the road.

Ford Motor company will be providing repairs for the rear axle at any Ford Dealership, and also if you rear axle can not be fixed but it need a replacement that will be provided to. Ford Motors is also providing a rental car for any one who needs it while repairs are taking place to their vehicle. Keep in mind that all repairs involved with the recall will be charge free to the customer along with the rental vehicle.

Over all this recall is for the safety of the customers. This recall was issued by Ford to make sure that all of their customers remain safe on the roads. Ford Motors has taken this recall as a lesson, and is planning on making the proper adjustments to rectify the problem.

Fraud in the Cash for Clunkers program is being investigated throughout the United States as there appears to be circumstances in which some dealers tried to beat out the system.  Check your local Ford Dealer for Ford Incentives outside of the Cash for Clunkers program for great savings and money.  The United States government is now investigating a number of dealerships throughout the country that may be involved in Cash for Clunkers fraud, although Greensboro Hyundai Dealers were not involved and most dealerships were also not involved.

Kansas City Ford Dealers and other dealerships are now offering a number of different incentives, but it was tough to beat the Cash for Clunkers incentives that saw many tens of thousands of new car sales in the summer of 2009.  At the moment, some dealers have paid $71,500 in fines and the NHTSA said that shady dealerships were by far in the minority.  A number of junkyards did not have correct paperwork which made it difficult for government officials to verify whether or not vehicles were traded in as well.

The U.S. government is still looking for dealerships that may have attempted to play the system and there may be up to $94 million in rebates withheld as a result.   Vehicles exported overseas were claimed to be destroyed after trade-in.  If there is paperwork missing for the trade-ins, the government may withhold rebates for the trade-ins.  Approximately 3.3 percent of all trade-ins during the program will not be honored by the government due to a lack of appropriate paperwork.

The government may continue to look for dealerships that did not have proper documentation.  The government’s vehicle scraping scheme definitely worked to boost auto sales, but the resulting fraud that came out of it may make the government more cautious as to how it goes about the next incentive program.

GM shelled out money to save its Saturn brand before it was discontinued. Saturn models can be purchased from a Sarasota Used Cars dealership near you. GM said in its prospectus which was filed before its IPO that the company paid consultant Stephen Girsky over $1 million in consultation fees as he was advising Saturn on how to save the ailing brand before GM let it go. GM discontinued Saturn after no feasible options remained for the brand, however previously owned GM models like Saturn GMC and others can still be purchased from Used Cars Indianapolis dealerships and many others.

Also check your local VW Dealer for deals on great Volkswagen models that have been continued throughout the past 10 to 20 years.  The consultant’s name is Stephen Girksy who is now a director at GM.   The GM and Saturn engagement began in 2009 and was completed before Girsky was added to the board.  With the Saturn agreement and the GM agreement that split the company into the new and old GM, Girsky was required a fee of $1 million.

Girsky was the president of SJG, a consulting firm, and while president he received advisory fees of $400,000 in 2009 that were related to Saturn.  GM attempted to hire the expert consultation services of Girsky and perhaps other individuals in an effort to save the brand.  Girsky was also an adviser to the former chairman Ed Whitacre from December of 2009 to February of 2010.

Girsky is now working at GM on the board of the company, and he has been integral to helping the company turn around from its poor performances in past years.  GM is looking to make a substantial profit this year and the next few years will determine how the company emerges from bankruptcy and whether it will continue to be viable in the long term.  GM will hold an IPO later this fall to help raise money for the company.

Chrysler has recently announced its 4th straight monthly gain for 2010.  Chrysler has had improvements in sales due to the redesigned 2011 Jeep Wrangler which has been selling well.  Competing Nissan models can be purchased at a Charlotte Nissan Dealer.  Chrysler and GM have been performing better after their bankruptcies in 2009 and after being the recipients of a government financing package after the companies were in danger of being liquidated.  GM’s Chevrolet brand has been key in GM turning the tide momentarily, and both automakers along with Ford hope to continue to do well in the rough economy.  Toyota has also suffered both from the recession and from recalls that have diminished sales for the first quarter of 2010, but the company rebounded for the second quarter of 2010 and the latest Toyota models can be purchased at a Toyota Dealer Los Angeles.

VW Dealer businesses sell Volkswagen models which are still popular in spite of the recession due to their reliability, price, and included features.  Jeep sales for July rose 19 percent compared to 2009 and Chrysler had a 5 percent gain for the month of July for 2010.  Last February, Chrysler ended a 25 consecutive monthly streak of sales declines.  Ram truck sales went up 11 percent in July, Dodge sold the same amount, and Chrysler sales diminished 11 percent from 2009.  The Dodge Challenger set sales records for the month of July as well as the Ram Chassis Cab.

Car sales for Chrysler were down 2 percent for 2010 while truck sales were up 7 percent, which gave the company a net gain of 5 percent.  Pickup sales have increased throughout the United States as consumers have more confidence in gas prices and some of the best pickup models from Chrysler, GM, and Ford have been released for the 2010 and 2011 model years.  Trucks are the major seller for Chrysler and may be key for the company to continue to do well, as the Ram vehicle model is a popular pickup model on the market.  Pickups outsold cars for Chrysler 70,349 to 22,964 for the month of July.

President Obama has said that the United States auto industry is coming back after some of the most recent progress by the automotive industry.  Obama said that GM, Ford, and Chrysler are going to continue to do well, and GM’s latest models can be purchased at a High Point Chevrolet Dealer.  Obama held a press conference on July 30 at a Chrysler assembly plant in Detroit.  Obama said that if the government would have done nothing as many people had suggested in 2009 that many automakers would have had to lay off thousands more workers.  Even dealers such as Ford Dealer Denver businesses and others may have been affected.  Estimates say that more than 1 million jobs could have been lost if both GM and Chrysler were liquidated.  Obama said that this amount of job loss would have been devastating to the economy.

VW Peoria dealers have still managed to sell well including other foreign automobile dealerships.  Obama said that it was a difficult decision to bail out two of the Big Three because the government does not want to get involved in private businesses such as the automotive industry.  Obama said that previously the automotive industry was given money without accountability.  He said now that the most recent bailouts have resulted in all three United States automakers operating at a profit for the first time since 2004.  U.S. automakers have added 55,000 jobs since last June which was the strongest job growth in 10 years.

Obama also said that if the bailouts did not happen that many workers that were hired or retained by Chrysler and GM would not have jobs, and that the end result would be greater economic loss.  It is anticipated that GM will repay a large amount if not all of its government loan after its IPO which will be held in August, and Chrysler is also expected to follow suit at some point.

Ford has made a commitment to keep jobs in the United States by “insourcing” jobs that were previously outsourced to other countries.  Pre-owned Ford models can be found at a Greenville used car dealer.  Ford has reached an agreement with the UAW to hire more workers at its plants. Ford will bring 635 additional workers to its plants by 2012 in a move to maintain a high quality of automobile manufacturing in an increasingly competitive environment.   Ford dealers compete with VW dealer businesses and have done better in recent months due to higher demand for Ford models like the Ford Fusion, Ford Focus, and Ford F-150 which have all been some of Ford’s best releases lately.  Ford is attempting to reduce the number of brands and models in order to focus on its best vehicles.

Ford previously owned Volvo and Jaguar whose models can be purchased at a Jaguar Dealer Birmingham business.  Ford had an agreement with the UAW which called for 1,559 insourced jobs.  However, Ford will exceed that number because the company has already added 1,340 jobs to its plants and it will add 1,975 total through 2012.  Ford’s Chicago Stamping plant will have more jobs to produce the Lincoln MKS, Ford Taurus, and the Ford Explorer.  Ford’s Rawsonville plant in Ypsianti Michigan will be involved in the assembly of battery packs for its hybrid vehicles.  At the moment, assembly for hybrid battery packs is being performed by a Mexican supplier.  Also, a Michigan assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan for moon roof assembly will have more jobs.

Ford will look to add even more than 635 jobs if possible, and depending on how much Ford’s vehicle demand increases over the next few years, the company may be able to add even more jobs than expected.  Ford was one of Obama’s examples of a company that is doing well in the current economic climate, and most expect Ford to continue to do well in the upcoming months.

Ford has completed the much anticipated and sometimes controversial sale of Volvo to Geely today.  Ford and Volvo models can be purchased at a Cincinnati Used Cars dealership.   Ford sold its Volvo brand to Geely for the sum of $1.8 billion.  This was much less than Ford paid for Volvo in 1999.  Ford paid $6.5 billion for Geely in 1999.  Volkswagen is a top competitor of Volvo and its models can be purchased from a local VW Dealer.  Geely named Stefan Jacoby, the CEO of Volkswagen Group of American the new CEO of Volvo Cars.

Ford has made a commitment to focus on its Ford brand for the upcoming years.  Other competing brands can be purchased from St. George Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dealers.  Ford has released several new models that have been widely considered to be among the the best in their respective market.  Models like the Ford Fusion, Ford Explorer, Ford F-150, and many others have taken accolades and awards for their safety, fuel efficiency, design, and engineering.

Ford’s CEO, Alan Mullaly said, “Volvo is an excellent brand with a strong product line, and it has returned to profits after a successful restructuring. We are confident Volvo has a solid future under Geely’s ownership.”  The reason that Ford sold Geely was not because the brand was unprofitable but rather the Ford wanted to narrow its brand focus and stop selling some of its European brands to free up time and resources for other projects.

It is likely that Ford’s narrowing of brands has contributed to this success, and Ford hopes to continue its success for the upcoming years.  Ford will continue to cooperate with Volvo in certain areas to smooth the transition between Ford and Geely, but eventually Geely will take over all of Volvo’s operations.  The purchase of the Volvo brand by Chinese automaker Geely was thought by some to be the sign of a transition between automaker power from America to the United States.  However, it remains to be seen whether or not China will be able to match the production power of the Big Three in the United States.

Ford Motor Co. took the lead on gaining nationwide publicity and mailed out a kit to every single public and private high school in the United States.  Even if some schools have had to cut their driver’s education programs, they should still be able to distribute the educational materials and provide the resource to parents.  The kit that was sent out included brochures, a letter detailing the program, and a short informational DVD with information about safe driving.  If parents take the time to visit the website, they will find a wealth of information that can help them during the stressful time of teaching their teenager to drive.  Not only is it stressful for the teen learning to drive, stressful for the parent teaching the teenager, but parents and teens all worry about one more inexperienced driver being on the already dangerous roads.
